Since successfully completing a three year Studio Ceramics course at Chesterfield College of Art and Design in 1980 my work has covered a wide range of techniques and materials. The present use of white stoneware enables me to model and use the wheel with the same clay. I work mostly to commissions and many of the pieces are repeatable but not identical.

Thrown work - I mostly use thrown techniques for domesticware pieces.

Hand built - I use a variety of techniques, slab method and coiled.

Decoration - Incised and applied clay.

I am inspired by the natural landscape and birds and these influences are strongly represented in my work. Seascapes and my local area of the Somerset Levels feature in many pieces.

I hope you enjoy looking at my Clayworks as much as I enjoy making them
